"I have no information": Foreign Minister refuses to confirm death of Lyonnais Eirik in Ukraine

Eirik Coursier, originally from Bron and a volunteer in a Ukrainian unit, is believed to have died in combat near Donetsk, according to tributes from the field and on social media. However, for the time being, Jean-Noël Barrot, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, is unable to confirm the information.
The conflict in Ukraine has reportedly claimed the life of a young man from the Lyon region. Eirik Coursier, 21, from Bron, who has been serving since the beginning of the year in an English-speaking unit integrated into the Ukrainian army, has been presumed dead since May 28, during a mission near Donetsk. He was reportedly seriously injured by a drone during an assault in the Makiivka region.
Officially missing, his fate remains uncertain. Tributes are pouring in on social media and among those on the front lines, suggesting that the young man may not have survived his injuries.
I used to stop writing here. But today, I can't keep quiet. My friend, Eirik. French, but Ukraine was your country of heart. You fought for its freedom. The Russians killed you this week. But they won't erase our memories in Kharkiv, nor your fight.
